Medinaceli station is on the conventional Madrid–Zaragoza line, in the lower part of the municipality, far from the hilltop village. For the south of the province it is the station with most trains to Madrid, but reaching it without a car is almost impossible.

When demand peaks

• Snow on Piqueras and the Moncayo (December to March): Soria is one of the coldest provinces in Spain, and in winter the Piqueras pass and the Moncayo heights may require chains. Trips to Logroño, the airport or the station need more margin in those weeks.

Tip: For morning flights from Soria, departure is usually in the early hours: if snow or fog is forecast, mention it when booking so the time can be adjusted.
