Which way it goes

From Soria, Madrid is reached on the A-15 and N-111 to Medinaceli, then on the A-2, which enters Madrid from the east, on the Barajas side. The airport therefore comes before central Madrid, with no need to cross the city.

From Soria, Barajas lies at the end of the A-2, before entering Madrid: there is no need to cross the city. With few trains and none direct to the airport, the road is the only reasonable option for an early flight.

When demand peaks

• Snow on Piqueras and the Moncayo (December to March): Soria is one of the coldest provinces in Spain, and in winter the Piqueras pass and the Moncayo heights may require chains. Trips to Logroño, the airport or the station need more margin in those weeks.

Tip: From El Burgo de Osma or San Esteban to Madrid, the route via Aranda and the A-1 is usually more direct than going via Soria; say so if you have a preference.
