To the north, the N-111 crosses the Piqueras pass towards Logroño; to the east, the N-122 leaves via Ágreda for Tarazona and Zaragoza; to the north-west, the N-234 leads to Burgos. Valladolid is reached via El Burgo de Osma and Aranda, and Guadalajara via Medinaceli and the A-2.

Valladolid is reached via El Burgo de Osma and Aranda de Duero, following the Duero valley westwards. It is a long trip for regional-government business and hospital care, with no direct train from Soria.

The capital and the towns right next to it, such as Laguna de Duero to the south and Arroyo de la Encomienda to the west, form a single urban area split by the Pisuerga river. Campo Grande station, both university hospitals and the trade fair grounds are here, and this is where most business trips to Madrid start.

Tip: For Numancia or the Río Lobos Canyon without your own car, book both ways at once: there is no transport to improvise the return from there.
